Searching for new media addiction at IDEATE intensive learning workshop in Turku (Finland), and Vilnius (Lithuania).

The second iteration of the IDEATE.me Intensive Learning Programme is taking place in the end of February /early March 2016 in Turku, Finland and end of March in Vilnius, Lithuania, as well as online. Supported by local mentors and guest lecturers, 16 students from four schools in Finland, Lithuania, Slovenia and the UK first met in a structured online activity to autonomously explore the selected timely and challenging topic of New Media Addiction. Two weeks ago in Turku 4 interdisciplinary groups came up with first ambitious ideas of how to tackle New Media Addiction, e.g. with a geo-tagging mixed-reality game, a "techacholics anonymous" club, an app-based traveling exhibition with EU-policy impact ambition, or a programme of parent-education. In Vinius they revamped and upgraded them thoroughly with business canvas, user-journey and marketing aspects — to eventually pitch them to a mixed committee of mentors and external experts.
