Competition for the best audiovisual portfolio

A showreel is an audiovisual portfolio of artists whose work can be presented in a form of a video or an animation: actors, directors, camera operators, special effects specialists, animators, graphic designers and others. It is a coherent, dynamic and visually attractive video presentation. It can consist of fragments of video clips, commercial spots or animations as well as posters or logotypes of a particular artist, studio or group.
Foundation for Cultural Education Ad Arte invites you to participate in the International Showreel Competition that will accompany the 3rd International Festival of New Audiovisual Phenomenons (Poznan, Poland, 24th-27th November 2010). Participation is open to individuals, creative studios and artistic groups dealing with motion graphics, animation or typography. There are no restrictions on technique, materials or style; it's only the showreel's originality, form, dynamism, coherence of image and sound that will be taken into consideration by the jury.
The 1st Prize in the Showreel Competition is a high quality multimedia projector Epson EH-TW450. The other prizes are the Audience Prize (250 EUR) and a distinction award (250 EUR). All awarded projects will be promoted during the Vivisesja Festival through all channels available to the Festival’s organiser (YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, Festival’s webpage) as well as directly during Festivals events.
The condition for participation in the Showreel Competition is a submission of an original showreel (containing author’s own realisations or projects in which they participated, in one of the following formats: DV PAL, MPEG4, MPEG2) together with filled in and signed application form available in the Festival's webpage http://www.vivisesja.pl/. Submission can be done via Internet (project file + scan of the filled in application form) to the ftp server to folder "showreel competition" (ftp server: ftp://ftp.adarte.webd.pl/, username: showreel@adarte.webd.pl, password: showreel123) or via regular mail (project on CD/DVD + filled in application form) to the address: Ad Arte Foundation, ul. Hawelańska 1, 60-625 Poznań, Poland (please add the title "Showreel Competition" on the envelope).
Each participant is permitted to submit a maximum of three showreels. Showreel’s duration should not exceed 5 minutes. The deadline for submissions is 10th November 2010 at 12:00 (noon).
Presentation of selected works and the announcement of the Showreel Competition’s results will take place at WSNHiD School (10 Kutrzeby Street, Poznan, Poland) on 26th November 2010 at 21:30.
