The project springs from their own experience of loneliness in a foreign country and at the same time discusses the paradoxical situation of increasing solitude in a world characterized by intense communication aided by modern technologies. The interactive book and bed make up the audio-visual installation that creates an intimate and pleasant atmosphere, where visitors can browse through the book and choose their bedtime story. The stories that are projected onto the bed are presented in different forms and blur the line between reality and dreams.

Danes sem prispela v rodno Slovenijo. Še prej sem se seveda ustavila v Dubaju, potem pa priletela v Benetke. Povezava Singapur-Ljubljana? Seveda nemogoče, Slovenija tako ali tako nima nobenih pametnih letalskih povezav.

Sem pa vesela, da sem tokrat izpustila Šrilanko, ker to pa je bilo že preveč. Tri letala, vsak po dobrih 8 ur, jaz pa ne morem spati v zraku ... Too much!

Katarina Zdjelar, rezidenčna umetnica v KC Tobačna 001 bo16. junija ob 16.30 predstavila svoje dosedanje delo na Akademiji za vizualne umetnosti v (A.V.A.).

Elisa, 5 is a video about a girl who ends up on a street on her 5th birthday, is a video about reality of São Paulo, about the problem of homeless and social differences in the world.

Residency Studio A

The Residency has operated since 2002. For 2011 artist/organisers from around the world are encouraged to apply. The studio is available to use free of charge from March 1st through November 30th. Residency periods can be arranged from 2 to 6 months. People working in all disciplines of art, e.g. visual, performing and media arts, music, criticism, research etc are encouraged to apply.
