Upon the shoulders of the pioneering 11-12 edition Venetian Connection and the 12-13 Passione the "Hidden Lives of Venice on Video" created one more omnibus of short documentary films - capturing un(dis)covered stories in and about the oldest Jewish Ghetto in the world.

The omnibus of the final year of the HiLoVv project deals with the complex and delicate topic of the contemporary Venetian neighbourhood called the Ghetto, which with its specific history gave name to the notion of the Ghetto as we know it today. The Ghetto celebrates its 500th anniversary in 2016.

V projektu "HiLoVv - Hidden Live(r)s of Venice", ki ga vodi doc. dr. Peter Purg, se že tri leta zapored srečujejo študenti štirih različnih držav, da bi pod taktirko priznanega režiserja in profesorja Rajka Grlića in drugih sodelujočih mentorjev univerz na Reki, v Gradcu, Vidmu in Novi Gorici posneli kratke dokumentarne filme o skritih življenjih Benetk.

The second edition of the HiLoVv - Hidden Live(r)s of Venice educational project was devoted to capturing un(dis)covered stories about the manual ingenuity of the Venetian "creative industries". In Xe El Violin we learn from Riccardo Guaraldi about the traditional art of making violins. Shoes to Measure presents Giovanna Zanella and Gabriele Gmeiner, two high-end craftswomen shoemakers who make everything by hand. Sweetly Salty shows us a brave start into the meticulous business of a pizzaiolo and Solo Perle the integration of an immigrant as maker of glass pearls. Delicate surfaces presents Peeta, a successful painter and graffiti artist who, due to safety issues, now only makes graffiti as commissioned work.

Novo leto, v novih prostorih, z novimi deli!

DINOSAURS IN VENICE? //22.11.2012//

Yes, I finally woke up in Venice, city of extremeness. It is fascinating, but to live here you have to get used to it. Everything is so intense and I still feel a little lost. Water everywhere, no hills just here and there you see a tree. Tourists all over. Museum city, which of course hides local people, and students, that you can easily miss if your sight doesn’t reach further than the infrastructure for massive tourism.

But when you turn in another direction and walk into a street that you don’t want to, then you see the beauty of fallen-apart fasades in the medieval labyrinth of this magical city. On the next corner you end up in a stinky restaurant with cheep bad food and you can’t believe that’s possible in Italy. On the wall you see a picture of a dinosaur in Venice, and the laughter makes the bed food more digestible. And then you realize, that Venice is like a big dinosaur being kept alive, for the fun of todays mankind.
